Ningaloo Reef

Best Times: All year round

The UNESCO World Heritage LIsted Ningaloo Reef is home to over 250 species of coral and 500 species of fish in a unique location where the arid Western Austrlalian desert colllides with the sea in spectacular fashion.

Keshi Mer Expeditions’ owners have over 20 years experience conducting charter vessel operations along the entire Ningaloo Marine Park specialising in megafauna interaction, research and monitoring, anthropology, documenting and sightseeing.

Montebello Islands

Best Times: March – November

The Montebello Islands Marine Park forms part of the Montebello and Barrow Islands Marine Reserve and is a unique part of the Western Australian coast covering some 1,500 hectares.

The Montebello Islands has an amazing history in a truly unique environment. From an Aboriginal history dating back to before the last Ice Age to Britsh nuclear weapons testing to pearling, commercial fishing and more recently burgeoning tourism. The archipelago boasts an incredibly diverse ecology and plays host to marine, terrestrial and ornothological research projects in a unique geological environment.

Dampier Archipelago

Best Times: All year round

Combining amazing natural and cultural history with one of Australia’s busiest bulk export ports, Dampier Archipelago is a unique environment, rich in cultural and ecological diversity.

Rugged ochre basalt and limestone topography forms a back drop for white sandy beaches with rich macro-algal beds, coral reefs and seagrass meadows underwater that support a significant assemblage of fish species .

Shark Bay

Best Times: March – August

The UNESCO World Heritage listed Shark Bay is home to a truly amazing diversity of life and is one of the most well documented coastlines in Australia.

Massive seagrass meadows, coral reefs and offshore islands play host to a globally significant dugong population, dolphins, migrating humpback whales and very diverse assemblage of fish species.
